Christina Rothe contemporary Abstract Art

Christina Rothe contemporary Abstract ArtChristina Rothe contemporary Abstract Art

Christina Rothe was born in Hamburg, Germany and raised from infancy in Lagos, Nigeria. After years of travel, studies and a short career working in the shipping industry, she finally allowed her life's true passion to unfold pursuing a career in fine art. Christina moved to the United States and studied at the Kansas City Art Institute in Missouri, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fiber.

She is predominantly known to paint with threads layering thousands of individual threads of various weights and colors one-at-a-time onto surfaces. Inspired by the African artist FAB her own technique of working with threads evolved over the years creating the illusion of an intricately textured woven cloth. Life experiences taught Rothe that there is no such thing that does not exist; Life is intricate, complex and fragile. Christina became a United States Citizen in 2016.
